Once you've chosen a template or the option to create the game from scratch it's time to set these options.
Don’t worry if you want to change them later. Once you enter the game editor you can modify them from "Settings" in the left side menu.
In GENERAL, you can configure the following:
Front Image: here, you can upload an image for the game's title. It's recommended to use a .png format with a transparent background.
Background Image: this will serve as the cover image for the game.
Keep in mind that these two images will appear as the cover in the dashboard of your created projects. They don’t replace the cover image you'll need to configure in the "start" scene within the editor.
Name: this is the title of your game.
Description: this description will appear in the game's preview.
Category: you must select the main category under which you want to assign this game.
Once you've set these options for the first time, a "Next" button will appear to take you to the Canvas configurator. After this initial setup, you can simply navigate between these two sections using the tabs above and modify what it's needed.
In CANVAS, you can configure:
Text Color: this defines the default text color in the game. You can always change the color for each individual text element later in the scenes editor.
Background Color: when scenes don’t have images or videos covering the background, this default color will be visible as the scene's background.
Width and Height: it’s important to define the size of the game. Keep this in mind especially if the game is designed to be played on a specific type of device. For example, if you want the game to be played on mobile, it’s recommended to set the correct pixel size to ensure proper display and gameplay. The default size is 1920x1080, which is perfect for full-screen games on computers.
Orientation: this option is especially useful for games designed for mobile devices. Here, you can force the game to be played either vertically or horizontally.
Full Screen: this option is ideal for games that need to be played with a timer, without interruptions, and in one go. Full-screen mode improves the game's visibility as it will take up the entire display of the device it's played on.
Have you set up everything? Great! You're now ready to start creating a fantastic project!
